The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) has conducted a comprehensive sector review resulting in the creation of 14 new sectors and removal of 8 existing sectors. Investment Trusts previously listed in sectors which have been removed have been relocated to a surviving sector or to one of the new sectors. The new and removed sectors are as follows:

- Technology & Media

- Asia Pacific – Including Japan
- Property Direct – Asia Pacific
- Property Direct – UK
- Property Specialist
- Sector Specialist: Debt
- Sector Specialist: Small Media, Comms & IT Cos
- Sector Specialist: Tech Media & Telecomm
